The Forests of Southern New England
2002-2005
In 2002 I was commissioned by the Southern New England Forest Consortium Inc. to photograph the forests of Southern New England, evidencing their history over the past one hundred years. My focus was to document and interpret the forest’s continuous struggle to evolve, and its give-and-take relationship with humans and nature. The project explores various themes, such as forest diversity, Native American life, the Colonial Period, and the remnants of the Industrial Revolution.
The photographs are in color.
